A love letter to my fear
About moving on when things feel scary and challenging and taking inspiration from other writers.
Last week
(the woman who inspired my writing and the path I am walking in life) joined Substack with her Letters from love. She invites her readers to write Letters from love, which is something we all could use at times. Especially at times when life feels challenging.Like I wrote in my blog on Friday I feel particularly challenged in the course I am taking in my life. I am asked to have faith and trust that all will be fine in the end. Even when I can’t see where things are heading.
So with Liz’ idea in mind I decided to write a love letter to my fear…
Dear fear,
What a great companion you have been for the past 44 years. Helping me to stay safe in difficult situations. But maybe you have been working a bit too hard. Trying to convince me that really stepping out into the world would be a dangerous treat.
I have believed you, because I loved you as well. And maybe you have slowed down my process for the right reasons. But from now on I will give you a different place in my life. You can be there in the very scary situations helping me to be safe.
In my process of creating and stepping out into the world you will be my sparring partner. We will discuss what is bothering you and we get to the bottom of the issue, before I move on. But I will not believe everything you say anymore. I will challenge you with my questions and we will move forward together.
Again, thank you fear, for helping me to get where I am now and I look forward to our new partnership in this beautiful and loving world.
Lots of love, Irene
