This is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down…. (do you remember this song from the famous 90’s show The Fresh Prince of Belair?). I loved that show, especially the Carlton dance… But if you were not a teenager in the 90’s you might not have a clue what I am talking about ;-).
Turning it upside down
Anyway… sometimes I have a feeling that I am constantly flipping my life upside down… Especially the first 6 months of this year… Which started with my stay on Paxos (which was an intense period of processing so many things, especially related to money), then there was February and March were there was a little stability, I returned to Corfu and my work as a ghostwriter and mentor started to take off… Then I went to The Netherlands for a couple of weeks, where I reconnected with friends, family and all these beautiful co-creators that I met in my workshops and sessions.
Processing and yet more processing… Really?
In May it was time to return to the boat and reconnect with my love, which brought up the subject of feeling insecure in so many ways. I had to work through this, to again return to the true version of myself;-). The one that loves life and sees opportunities everywhere. Which makes this a long introduction to the story that I wanted to share with you today. But I just want to let you know, that when you are on a journey of being, finding, embracing your true self, I am here and I know what you go through. It can be a tough ride, but it is the best ride there is.
Opening the High Heart Chakra of the World
As you have probably seen the last weeks
and I shared 13 episodes of the podcast series Opening the High Heart Chakra of the World. Which we created out of the urge and joy of creating this. It was an amazing ride. We had so much fun recording all the episodes. We finished recording the episodes before I went sailing for 6 weeks and we had been talking about recording a bonus episode. But only when it felt right…And then our minds took on the idea of having to do it…
For days we talked about how and what this podcast would be about (instead of just trusting the process and allowing its content to emerge naturally). We weren’t sure… (at least not in the way we had been with the 13 original episodes) There were no questions from listeners, so was there even a reason to record another episode? (This had never been a reason not to do it, why was it now?) Shouldn’t we just wait? This question alone caused so much more doubt, more hesitation… Where there hadn’t been any doubt or fear before!
We decided to flip it all upside down and let go of the idea that the bonus episode had to be released on the 20th of June - if ever at all! And we agreed on staying true to one of our shared values in business: only when it’s created from a place of true connection à nd joy will we release it into the world.
So for now, there will be no Episode 14, but it’s clear for both of us that we won’t stop creating together and we are curious to find out what will emerge in the future. Because the more we keep talking, the more we realise how much wisdom there is to share. And for the world to become a place of love, trust en truth it is most important to continue to tell our stories.
And for those who need a little joy today, here’s the Carlton Dance…
When you feel ready to start writing and sharing your own true story, stay tuned for a great summer writing experience!
I know that feeling when you created something that you enjoyed and then it causes you to set certain expectations for what you create next. I think it's great that you both decided to go with your gut and wait (for now)!
