Hello my friends and lovely readers,
I’m back!
A couple of months ago I wasn’t so sure if I was on the right path anymore with the blog. I needed time to figure out what I truly wanted and why. Why am I writing on this platform and why in English as all of the other stuff I do is mainly in Dutch?
The last months I have been forced to question everything. And I am slowly finding my way back to who I truly am. In this process I realise that blogging has always been a part of my life and that I use this as a way to find my voice. But in the process of being on Substack, I was too focused on making a living from this (like ‘all the others’ do ;-)
And that depleted me. So I stopped…
And now I am back. I am not sure if there comes a rhythm, but I just want to write again. I might change the title of this blog again, but for now I am staying with the Untamed Woman for a while.
It doesn’t have to be like this
The title of this blog came with a realisation, it feels like so many people are so focused on earning money, on making a living, that we forget to live. And I realised it doesn’t have to be like this, if we are all brave and bold to step out of our own created cages.
I had the thought while I was in the car on my way to meet a friend and her two beautiful daughters. Listening to a Greek radio station I realised how lucky we are to live outside the system. We are not bound to office jobs, school hours or holidays to relax from our busy lives.
We are creating the life we desire, in peace and harmony with ourselves and the people we love.
We often discuss the idea that the way we live is not how it is supposed to be. We have been forced to live in our small communities as a family, but this is not how we thrive. We used to live in communities where women worked and lived together, celebrating each other. Doing the things in our own pace and way, feeling connected and loved by each other. And in the meantime the men were out hunting or doing whatever it is men do ;-)
The sacrifices of walking your own path
But now we seem to have to walk the path alone and therefore we sometimes don’t take this leap of faith. Because of course, when you do take the leap of faith, you have to make some sacrifices.
You will not be understood by everyone, it can feel lonely and you long to be seen and held in times when you don’t know what your next step is. When you start living, you realise that your not always focused on earning money, so you sometimes find yourself needing to be creative to pay our bills. But the biggest gift is that you don’t wait to have enough money to be free, you try to be as free as possible and trust that you are taken care off.
Is that a crazy thing to do?
In this life it seems so.
Is it easy?
Definitely not!
Creativity as a life saver
But when you live like this, you bring out the best in yourself. You see abundance where others see nothing, you open up your creativity where others follow the easy road, you become flexible and move with what is, instead of trying to control life.
Because in life there is nothing to control anyway.
You learn to live with less; food becomes basic and healthier, you will use less beauty products which is less invasive for your body, you start to realise you don’t need a lot of things to simply enjoy life.
When a problem arises, you open up your creativity box and you fix it in the best possible way. Doing this over and over again, builds trust and shows you that their is always a solution.
Follow your path
Creating a life that suits you doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to move to a Greek island. It means that you are going to follow what feels best for you in any given moment. It means listening to your own wisdom and truth, so that you can create what is aligned with who you truly are. And it might seem irresponsible or crazy to step out of the system you are living in now, but I truly believe that this is the only way we can create a society that is loving, healthy and sustainable.
Wise Women Write Wild
The more I focus on this topic, the more I see that this is part of the wisdom of women. Women know and feel what is needed to create a different world, because this loving energy is more logical for them to embrace. To be a healthy and sustainable society, we have to bring balance in the feminine and masculine energy and that starts by bringing balance in this energy within yourself.
That is why I will be sharing my wisdom more and more and I invite you to do the same!
Therefore I invite you to join me during Wise Women Write Wild, a writing retreat on the island of Corfu, starting on the 25th of October. I love to see you there so you can bring out your true story. In one week I will help you connect to your inner wisdom, so you can write your truth and get the courage to share it!
