It's okay, when you are not ready for the NEW year
You can start something new everyday... anyway

Hello lovely you,
For most of us it is the first day after the holidays and that means: a new year, new resolutions, ready to eat healthy, claim your goals and set intentions…
But maybe you just want to be in bed or on the couch
with a cup of cocao and a novel, because you know
It’s Winter…
These last weeks I had the intention to reflect, read and write, but I ended up doing all kinds of other things and was busier than I had been for a very long time… Which resulted in the fact that last Saturday I felt completely depleted and absolutely not ready to start my new year…
For one thing, I was overwhelmed with all the people shouting online (yes also here on Substack) that you had to make this the best year, set goals and aim higher… A lot of people all around the world don’t seem to feel the winter energy as they should feel it. A moment to retreat, to hibernate, to listen to what you need, instead of going for it at a speed that is unrelated to the season (if you are in the Southern Hemisphere, you might feel it different, but here in Europe we are wintering).
I really had to tell myself that it was okay, that I live a life outside of systems, so what does it matter? But the truth is… The energy of these kind of events is intense and felt everywhere. So when you are sensitive, you feel it in your system…
So if you don’t feel ready today… Just leave it be. If you don’t want to start your new years resolutions, start tomorrow, or next week or next month. Or just never start, because no matter who you are and what you do, you are okay, just the way you are!
So for today, drink your cup of cocao, tea or coffee, read that novel, play a game with your kids or spouse and let the world run around you…
Let the others play big, you know you need your rest and your space to just be… So just be!!
