Stories help us heal, by telling our own and listening or reading we start to understand who we are, what we believe in and how to live according to this.
Have you ever felt seen, heard or understood when you read a story in a book, a blog or in a movie? Realising you’re not alone in your quest for the life that suits you best. For the last 15 years I have been on a quest for this life and I realise with every year that follows that this is a work in progress, until you die. Your desires for what you want in life differ in the stages of your life and the older you get, the more you understand who you truly are.
In this quest there were two things that helped me through the touhg times. Writing and reading (okay and watching romantic movies and tv series;-).
They helped me to understand myself and the world we were living in. I love reading about how people are able to change their lives, even when the circumstances are not that great. And I love to write about all the experiences I had to be able to create the life that suits me best.
The healing power of words
I am a true believer that we need stories to see what is possible. In the storms of life we need stories of hope and optimism. To see that change is possible. That we can create a world we personally believe in. For me this is a world in which we are lead by love and intuition. By creativity and connection. And most important that we feel the space to share our own unique stories.
To share your own unique story it helps to have someone who asks you the right questions to tell it. That’s why I am sharing this amazing episode of the She Woo Dares podcast. In this interview host Debby Levering asks me about all things Woo, the things that are a bit strange and unseen, but so necessary in our lives as conscious and creative entrepreneurs.
In this episode we talk about a lot of things I haven’t talked about before in interviews. But that is the beauty about being interviewed, because of the questions asked, you move into directions that are necessary to share at that moment. Even when you think you do not have anything to share.
You can wonder what relationships with married men have to do with living a conscious life and business, but there is ;-)
We all have stories to tell. We shouldn’t be afraid to share or think that our stories aren’t worthy. Sharing is a part of your healing process and a powerful way to help others move forward in life.
Enjoy listening to this beautiful podcast.
Lots of love, Irene
