hi, I am Irene and I write about what it means to live according to your visions and desires. I share stories on my travels, ideas and revelations and what it means to do things a bit different…
Hello my lovely readers,
today I first would love to welcome my new subscribers. It is so warming to see all your lovely names coming up and I am so thrilled you want to be a part of this journey to be an Untamed Woman. And as I am navigating the English rainy and stormy days I would love to share with you what it means for me to be an untamed woman. Because I actually never thought I was one. But as I started to think about it, I have been in the process of becoming one for the last 10 years. But I would have never used the term in this way.
The first time I heard of the term Untamed was when I read Glennon Doyles book with the same title, a couple of years ago. I don’t remember much of the book, but there is one story that I remember. The story at the beginning of the book about a wild animal that is caged in a zoo. Which to Glennon is very unnatural and I think we could all agree. But it seems to be the same for a lot of women. We seem to be caged, sometimes through our own thoughts and behaviour, sometimes by the rules and ideas of the society we live in.
At the moment I am slowreading the book ‘Women who run with the wolves’ written by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. In which she explains that women have this wild, intuitive side in them that is often suppressed. And that it is time to let ourselves free, follow our inner calling and become an untamed woman. So at the start of this new phase of my blog, I love to share with you my ideas of what it means to be an untamed woman. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or send me an email by replying to this message (if you receive it in your inbox).
An Untamed Woman
An untamed woman follows the call of her inner voice, her inner wisdom, the guidance of the wise old lady inside of her. She dances like no one is watching, she enjoys being in nature, not being bound to office hours or school structure for her kids. She loves to be free to do what she wants. She is a powerful creator and has a lot of wisdom to share. Her visions are the things that guide her in life. Her visions are powerful tools for manifesting the life she desires for herself and the people and the world around her.
She is in touch with her calling and is not afraid to do things differently. She aims to be free from her own negative thinking and beliefs that hold her back. Working on this is a constant in her life. She is conscious and knows the impact of her actions on how she feels, and what the impact is on the world around her. She moves with the way life is today and strives to make a change. Not only in her own life, but also in the lives of others.
She is passionate about life, she loves good food, she enjoys being alone and being together. She is a sensual and sexual being, she loves to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. She loves to feel the touch of water on her skin, or the hands of her partner. She has a desire for natural things, is creative in the way she lives and how she builds her surroundings. She grows and makes her own food, she lives with the cycles of nature, her feminine cycle and knows the impact of the moon on her life and nature. She teaches her children what it is like to be free and helps them to stand strong in today’s world.
She is okay when things get messy or out of control. She is flexible and capable of adjusting to the demands of her life. She is free to go and do what she feels is needed and follows the call of her inner voice. She is strong and connected, she shares her truth and loves to inspire others to open up. Because she knows that sharing stories is the most important part of changing the world we live in.
Wauw, wat klinkt dat heerlijk... being an untamed woman! Ben al aardig op weg om dit te omarmen en daadwerkelijk naar te leven :)
Yeah! And welcome on this journey!
