Can you imagine it is September already? After a lovely summer that was completely different from what I had thought it would be, I am slowly moving back into working mode. I have enjoyed this summer with lots of sailing trips and a trip to the mountains. I have been travelling more than I initially thought, but that is the great thing of crafting your life to your own needs, you can do whatever you want, and so I did 😉.
Life is about finding the right moment
While I was sailing I often saw a boat with the name Kairos. It sounded familiar, but wasn’t quite sure what it was. Until I got a message from one of my readers and realised that I had been living in Kairos time all summer. In modern Greek kairos means weather or time. But it is also a way of living. Kairos means ‘the right moment’, and is the opposite of Chronos - the time we use to organise our society.
Without a plan I surrendered to Kairos time this summer. Using the right moment to do what you have to do in a certain moment. When you are living in Kairos time there are no deadlines, there is only the right moment to do something.
Life is about living
One of the reasons I surrendered to Kairos was that I fell in love. And I guess I literally fell, because love became one of the biggest adventures of this summer. But it added to an experience that I had already created. The idea that life is about living, it is not about earning more, gaining more or working more hours. It is about diving into what you truly want at a certain moment. Luckily I fell in love with a men who is a perfect example of living in Kairos time.
When you fall in love it is the only thing you can think about. Especially when you want to be together but you can’t because of the busy schedules you have. So what if you could just focus on falling in love for a while? Being together, enjoying each other’s company and slow down all the other parts of your life. It is the same with so many other things that you want to bring more attention to. What if you could just make the time to do it?
Sometimes you have to trust and take a deep dive in the unknown. To find out what you were really looking for.
Life is about taking time
Now I can see that falling in love and being out at sea helped me to slow down the process of creating the business that I wanted to create. At the beginning of the summer I thought I had it all worked out. But during these last weeks my next move has become more powerful than I could have imagined. Just because I wasn’t focusing on it.
Sometimes we want to create something and have it ready at a certain moment, but most of the time we are forcing ourselves into something we are not ready for. Taking time to create is always more powerful, because it gives you space to bring you back to your true essence (and maybe even see what you have been ignoring for a very long time). Â Â
Life is about following what feels good
I can’t state it enough, but I want you to know that there is an immense power living inside of you that is called your inner knowing. It is this power that will help you create the life you truly want. So what is calling you right now? What is there deep inside of you trying to get your attention? What is your heart telling you to do and where are you ignoring to go?
This doesn’t have to be a big thing. It is about following what your body is telling you. It is as simple as following the desire to go for a swim, or dance your heart out. Just do it, make the time so you can be stronger in every other area of your life.
I could have said no when the opportunity to go sailing arrived. I could have said no before our first kiss. I could have said goodbye after a couple of weeks of sailing. I could have run away when our first issue arrived. I could have buried myself in work, because I needed more money. But instead I said yes to love and had a summer that was extremely fulfilling and adventurous.
So I keep on saying yes to all new things that feel good and I would love for you to do the same!
