You don't have to have it all figured out yet
But you do have to listen to the power of the silence...
These weeks I am reading a lot about how women move in this world. About how our talents and gifts have been suppressed by generations of men and by ourselves. At a certain point in history we started to believe that women were the gender that wasn’t worth anything. But there is a change happening and women have been fighting for their rights. Since a couple of decades we can do more that we have done in the last centuries.
But in doing so, a lot of women still work or function from a masculine perspective. Because we have given away our truest power, our intuition. Nowadays women are standing up and connecting to their femininity more and more, but when they do, people around them are confused. They wonder why you are making these crazy changes? You’re breaking up your perfect life with a house, a mortgage and a husband to go traveling? You quit your job as a lawyer to live in a tiny house and connect to nature?
You are not the crazy one
When this happens, the women taking the chances (probably you when you are reading this) are starting to get confused as well. Their vision was clear, they knew where they had to go, but are they really crazy? The road ahead seems bumpy and challenging, but it seems the only way to go. Even though a lot is unknown yet. It seems worth to at least try it . Even though you can’t really explain why you are doing it.
Why would you change security for adventure, for the unknown, for the unbeaten path?
Why not stay safely in your house and follow what people tell you to do?
All women have a wild side, a very wild side. When you suppress this side, you will get sick at a certain point. The suppressing is unhealthy and will have to be released at a certain point. It comes out in all kinds of forms, but the good thing is that when it comes out, it is your invitation to change. And maybe it needs to come out several times before you truly understand the call.
And that is okay.
The answer to your questions
Stepping into the adventure, discovering or unveiling your wild side, comes with a lot of questions. Because you didn’t have any examples in your life on how to do this. But there is good news, if you feel the call, you are the changemaker, the cycle breaker, the sensitive one, the one who is part of a group of people that is making changes in the world.
When you feel you have absolutely no idea what to do, you have come to the right place, because here is where magic can happen. Here you can open yourself up to new worlds, to new visions, to new steps. And yes that is though, when no one understands your ideas. But trust me it is worth more than staying safely in the world that is constructed.
You don’t have to know it all, yet
A couple of days after I started writing this article, I was visiting my therapist. She works with plant spirit medicine and is a fantastic healer. The session we had started right when I stepped into her sacred space and it was tough. It went a completely different way than I expected, but we came to the conclusion that it is okay that you don’t have it all figured out ánd that it is okay to ask for help.
But sometimes the problem is, who do you ask for help and what do you want to ask. Because at some points I realise that I don’t know how to go on and I also don’t know who to ask for help. Her answer was simple and related to everything I tell people all the time… Go inward, talk to you spirit guides, pray, go into nature, go for a walk, take a breath, the silence will give you the answers.
Move on
So when you have no clue what you should do next. The last thing you need is to go online to look for answers (something I always seem to be doing first, until I realise after a couple of minutes that I am even more worried or stressed), but you need to move, do something different and the answers will find their way to you.
I’m curious, what do you do when you feel overwhelmed?
With the Untamed Woman I create a space for truthful conversations, about life, about walking your own path, about being vulnerable and making mistakes.
