Once upon a time I had the thought of writing a book with the title: this book can change your life. I had been thinking about it a lot, because I loved the title. But when someone told me he thought I was not capable of telling people how to change their lives, I let the idea go. I didn't want to overrate myself and pretend that I knew everything about it. I started to believe that I wasn’t the one who could change lives and stepped back into my little corner of the world. For a while I stopped sharing at all, too afraid to make a difference.
Stories change lives.
In the years that have passed since then, I know I have changed peoples lives, because they told me this. Just by sharing my personal story and the steps I took to get where I am now. It made me realise that every story can change a life. Maybe one, maybe two, maybe dozens or thousands. It doesn't matter. But the importance is to see that every story can change a life. Even your story. Even when you think your story doesn’t matter or isn’t grand or captivating.
That’s why it is important to share
Tell your story to whomever may listen. The girl in the shoe shop, the nurse at your local doctor or the girl you meet on the bus.
You don’t have to share your story in a blog or podcast, just share it where it feels safe for you. In the journey we are all in that is called life, it can sometimes be challenging to find this safe place where you’ll find people who listen, who are supporting you on your way.
A safe place to share your story
From now on I offer you this safe place, every month during the online campfire meeting. This Friday is the first of a new series, every third Friday of the month.
I love to see you there! Enjoy your week and see you this Friday!
With love, Irene
